Your 20s and 30s: The Foundation of a Healthy Life
There is something many of us believe when we are young: that our bodies will always forgive us. We can eat whatever we…

There is a saying that “delusion is the cousin of hope”. It may not sound realistic. In fact, it probably isn’t. But sometimes, it works.
There are seasons in life when nothing around you suggests that things are about to get better. Your plans aren’t working out. Opportunities seem far away. Doors keep closing. From the outside, there is every reason to believe that tomorrow will look exactly like today.
Yet, somehow, you choose to hope anyway.
This is not because you have proof that everything will suddenly fall into place, but because giving up guarantees that nothing changes. Hope keeps you moving when logic tells you to stop. It pushes you to send one more application, make one more attempt, learn one more skill, and believe that your story isn’t over yet.
Does positivity magically change the universe? Probably not. But it changes you. It changes the way you think, the way you speak, the opportunities you notice, and the actions you take. And those actions often create the outcomes you once only hoped for
One thing I strongly believe in is that positivity attracts positivity, and this is not because life suddenly becomes perfect when you are positive, but because a hopeful mind is more likely to see possibilities where a defeated mind only sees dead ends.
The universe may not be keeping score of your thoughts, but your mind certainly is. And that is where every meaningful change begins.
Imagine waking up every morning believing that life is already working against you. That is because you work so hard and there’s little or nothing to show for it, that means it's over and it’ll never get better.
You check your phone and the first thing you see is bad news. Someone else’s success makes you question your own journey. A small setback at work feels like proof that nothing ever goes your way. Before the day has even begun, you’ve already convinced yourself that you’re losing. You fill your mind up with negativity and you are always unhappy.
Now imagine starting the same day differently.
You still have bills to pay. Your goals haven’t magically achieved themselves overnight. The traffic is still there. The challenges haven’t disappeared. But instead of asking, “Why does this always happen to me?” you ask, “What can I do with today?”
Nothing around you has changed.
But everything inside you will change, little by little.
For years, people have talked about the universe as if it were a giant magnet, sending blessings to positive people and obstacles to everyone else. It’s a comforting idea because it makes life seem predictable. Think positively and good things will come. Think negatively and you’ll attract bad luck.
Reality, however, is far more interesting.
The universe isn’t sitting somewhere deciding who deserves success and who doesn’t. Life happens to everyone. Good people experience heartbreak. Hardworking people lose jobs. Kind people get disappointed. Challenges don’t discriminate.
What often separates people isn’t what happens to them. It’s how they respond when life happens.
That response begins in the mind.
Your mindset quietly shapes almost every decision you make. It influences whether you apply for the opportunity or assume you’ll be rejected. It determines whether failure becomes your final chapter or simply another page in your story. It affects the people you attract, the conversations you have and the risks you’re willing to take.
In many ways, your mind becomes the real magnet.
Think about someone who constantly expects the worst.
They walk into interviews already convinced they won’t get the job. They avoid networking because they assume nobody wants to talk to them. They see other people’s achievements as reminders of everything they haven’t accomplished. They believe that all men or women cheat but subconsciously crash out and get hurt when they are being cheated on. They believe that all marriages are bad. Infact, they only just expect the worst and bad from every single thing.
Eventually, their beliefs begin to shape their actions. And their actions begin to shape their reality.
Now picture someone else facing the exact same circumstances.
They don’t pretend life is easy. They feel disappointment when things don’t go their way. They have moments of fear and self doubt just like everyone else. But they keep showing up. They keep learning. They keep asking questions. They keep believing that one rejection doesn’t define their future. They still keep hoping to meet better partners. They believe that someday they’ll have a good marriage
Over time, those small decisions compound, because their mindset kept them moving long after others had given up and this ends up good in the end.
This is where many people misunderstand positivity.Positivity isn’t pretending that pain doesn’t exist. It isn’t forcing a smile through every difficult season, and it certainly isn’t believing that simply thinking about success will make it appear.Real positivity is much quieter than that. It’s choosing hope after disappointment. It’s learning from failure instead of becoming it.It’s refusing to let one bad day become a bad life. It is refusing to stay down no matter what.
Take a look at this. You are always expecting the worst and when what you are expecting finally comes, you’re crashing out? When you are always negative, there’s little or no motivation, so you give up earlier and probably start something else, continue the same pattern and before you know it, you’re in a circle of frustration and self victimization.
The truth is, your thoughts create habits.Your habits shape your actions.Your actions build your future. That’s the real chain reaction.
The same is true for negativity. When you constantly compare your life to carefully edited moments on social media, it’s easy to believe everyone else is winning while you’re falling behind. When complaining becomes your daily language, gratitude slowly disappears. When fear becomes louder than faith in yourself, opportunities begin to look like risks instead of possibilities.
Negativity doesn’t just affect your mood. It narrows your vision. You stop seeing doors because you’re too focused on the walls. That is why protecting your mind has become one of the most valuable skills anyone can develop;Be intentional about the conversations you entertain.Be selective about the content you consume,Spend time with people who challenge you to grow instead of encouraging you to stay comfortable.Feed your mind with ideas that make you curious, hopeful and resilient.Because whatever consistently fills your mind eventually shapes your life.
This doesn’t mean you’ll never feel anxious, discouraged or overwhelmed. Those emotions are part of being human.Strength isn’t found in avoiding them. It’s found in refusing to let them become permanent residents in your mind.Maybe the universe isn’t a giant magnet deciding your destiny.Maybe the greatest force in your life has always been the way you think, the choices you make and the courage to keep moving even when the outcome is uncertain.
The life you want won’t appear because you wished for it.It will grow because your mindset inspired the actions that made it possible. So the next time life doesn’t go according to plan, don’t ask whether the universe has abandoned you.Ask yourself something far more powerful.
What am I choosing to believe today, and where will that belief lead me tomorrow?
Because while you can’t control every event that enters your life, you can always choose the mindset that leads you through it.
And more often than not, that’s the force that changes everything.
A moving man will definitely meet his luck. As long as you don’t stop trying? You’ll definitely get something good out of life. In pidgin there’s a saying that goes “ Na who give up loose o” and that’s so real. So, learn to be positive, groom your mind and watch your life change for good. As long as there’s life, there’ll always be problems, the least you can do for yourself is to be happy and try to show up, cry all you can, rest all you can, just don’t stop, don’t give up.
